Treatment Services

Our Programs

Comprehensive, evidence-based services for adults and adolescents across the Black Hills region.

Assessments

The first step toward treatment is a comprehensive substance use assessment. Our licensed counselors conduct thorough 1.5–2 hour evaluations to understand your history, needs, and goals — and to determine the appropriate level of care.

Adult Assessment

Available in Sturgis and Belle Fourche. Comprehensive evaluation covering substance use history, mental health, social supports, and treatment needs. Results in a personalized treatment recommendation.

Adolescent Assessment

Specialized evaluations for individuals under 18. Conducted with sensitivity to developmental stage and family context. Parental involvement is encouraged where appropriate.

Outpatient Treatment

Our outpatient programs allow clients to receive structured, evidence-based treatment while continuing to live at home and maintain daily responsibilities.

Individual Counseling

One-on-one sessions with a licensed counselor in Sturgis or Belle Fourche. Sessions focus on recovery goals, coping skills, and personal growth at your own pace.

Outpatient Group

Structured Early Recovery Skills group counseling meeting multiple times per week. Builds community, develops coping strategies, and supports sustained recovery.

Peer Support

Connecting clients with trained peers in long-term recovery. Peer support specialists offer lived experience, encouragement, and practical guidance through the recovery journey.

Aftercare

Graduating from an outpatient program is a milestone — but recovery is ongoing. Our aftercare group provides a continuing community of support for program graduates.

Aftercare Group

Open to ABC Outpatient graduates. Meets Wednesdays from 5:00 – 6:30pm in Sturgis. Facilitated by a licensed counselor in a supportive group setting focused on maintaining long-term sobriety and healthy life skills.
